We enjoyed SUCH a beautiful sunset and full moon on this paddle. We started at the beach launch on the Northeastern corner of Sandsprit park, right next to the Coast Guard Auxiliary. This can be a tricky launch spot because you can go 3 different ways and they all have their complications.
This night we were headed East, to the first island off the park. In order to head to our destination we must go past a heavily used boat channel – which is not a no wake zone (meaning boats can go as fast as they please). It can be dangerous. The time frame of our paddle made it much easier tho, as not many boats are out in this area right around sunset.
We headed over to the island and “parked” our boards and kayaks. A few of us had brought coolers with drinks, of various kinds. ? We then hung out and explored the mini island while waiting for the sun to fully set and the moon to rise.
It was a perfect ending to the day. The only change I would make is to maybe remind people (even tho it was stated on the event page) that they might need bug spray. Noseeums are no joke. LOL
Enjoy the photos! They were contributed by our Team Zeke members: Rochelle, Annaliese and Leisa ❤?
It was a beautiful and cloudy sunset. I know that sounds like a contradiction…. but it definitely was beautiful. There was a storm to the West and it was far enough that we were not paddling in the danger of lightning. I do not do lightning. *shakes head*
We had a breeze blowing us North as we traveled along the edge of the mangroves, being spied upon by a large Osprey. We found a little pathway and traveled into a secluded area where we saw Night Herons, a Great Blue Heron AND a WATER SNAKE! Yea….. we did not chase any of them…. especially the snake.
It started to get dark so we headed back South and even tho the breeze was against us…. the breeze was against us. =) It felt so refreshing and was a perfect end to our Sunset Paddle. Here are some photos to enjoy from our adventure.
Paddle Boarding in Stuart and Jupiter Florida – Guided Tours & Lessons
We had SUCH a great time with these guys for a Sunday Funday Morning Paddle. Amanda had paddled once before and this would be Heather’s first time. (Amanda was such a great friend treating Heather to a paddle boarding tour with us!) Amanda had stated that even tho she had Paddle Boarded before, she never actually stood up. Instructor Florida Girl Leisa was not having that. The lesson started (as always) on land and continued the second we hit the water. Within moments Amanda and Heather were both standing! Neither girl fell in as we took off for our mini adventure.
Along the way we saw tons of fish, pretty night herons and egrets. The girls learned a little about the eco system and they even did a mini team building session – AND ROCKED IT!
Great day girls! We are so happy you chose Zeke’s for your Paddle Boarding Lesson & Guided Tour. We look forward to paddling with you guys again!
